So, what exactly is Holyrood apartHOTEL?
Holyrood apartHOTEL is an alternative to more traditional hotels, offering the discerning traveller a ‘home from home’ environment. No need to sleep, eat and work in a hotel bedroom. Each luxury apartment has 2 Bedrooms, a very comfortable lounge, a fully fitted kitchen and 2 Bathrooms all to yourself (please note 4 of our apartments feature 1 full size bathroom)

Where are you located in the city?
We are located in Holyrood just off the Historic Royal Mile. Usually referred to ‘The Old Town’ this area offers a perfect location from which to ‘walk Edinburgh’
We are a stones throw away from many of Edinburgh’s most popular tourist attractions:
The Holyrood Palace, Parliament, Dynamic Earth and the walking tracks to Arthurs Seat are all within a 5 minute walk.
The Castle, Scotch Whiskey Experience, Camera Obscura are a 15 Minute walk up the Royal Mile.
The Edinburgh Dungeon is approximately 5 minutes walk away and the East end of Princes Street (High Street Shops) is a 10 minute walk

Do you provide luggage storage?
Yes we are happy to store your luggage prior to your arrival or following departure.

Is internet access available?
Yes – we offer our guests a free computer terminal and printer available 24 hours at Reception.
All apartments feature a WIFI service where you may logon to the Wireless service and purchase access time via credit card.
Alternatively you may collect a voucher for either: 1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days from Reception and charge this to your apartment account.

Do you provide Car Parking?
Yes we have onsite secure car parking with lift access to the apartments.
Car parking is charged at £8.50 per space per 24 hour period and to ensure availability needs to be pre-booked with Reception mail@holyroodaparthotel.com or phone 0131 524 3200.
Access to the Car Park is available from Hammermans Entry just off Holyrood Road.

What do you provide in the apartments?
The apartments are fully equipped to provide you with a luxury home from home.
All bedding and towels are provided along with luxury Scottish toiletries, Tea, coffee and fresh milk is also provided in the kitchen.
The Kitchen: Oven & Hob, Microwave, Refrigerator with ice tray, Dishwasher, Washing Machine/Tumble Dryer, Pots, Pans and Frying pan, Toaster, Tin and bottle opener, Cutlery and cooking utensils, Garlic Press, Corkscrew, Dish towel and Oven Glove, Chopping board, All Crockery and Glasses, Pyrex Dish and tray, Scrubbing brush and paper towels, Dishwasher tablets/Washing up liquid/Soap powder, Measuring jug and colander, Salt and pepper grinders, Tea and Coffee and fresh milk on arrival
The Living Room: Sofa, Arm Chairs, Coffee table, TV unit, LCD Flat screen TV with Freeview, DVD player, Stereo and CD player, Phone, Dining table and chairs

Do you supply cots and high chairs?
Yes we have a limited number of cots and high chairs available free of charge, please pre book if required.

What is the maximum number of persons able to stay in the apartment?
Each apartment can sleep up to 5 adults, with the 5th person sleeping the sofa bed in the lounge.
For Family accommodation it is possible to sleep up to 6 in the apartment, with either 2 young children sharing the sofa bed or utilizing the free travel cots we can provide (please pre book if required)

Do you have a Gym or Swimming Pool?
Guests can enjoy the use of the onsite fitness room (20 sq metres) that features: Treadmill, Bike, Cross trainer, Multi Gym, Free weights ranging from 2 kg – 22kg, Swiss ball and stretching pads.
There is no swimming pool at Holyrood apartHOTEL In addition to the onsite Fitness Room our guests have access to discounted rates at the Vital Health and Wellbeing Club located just 100 metres away.

Do you have smoking apartments available?
Yes we have maintained a limited number of smoking apartments on the ground floor.
The smoking area is in the lounge and kitchen area only – all bedrooms are strictly non-smoking.
Please request a smoking apartment at the time of booking. Smoking in any other area of the apartHOTEL is strictly forbidden.

Do you have disabled facilities?
We have 2 apartments that are accessible adapted. They feature 2 bedrooms, 1 with a standard en-suite shower room and 1 accessible bathroom with grab rails, shower seat or wheel in shower. The kitchen has not been adapted, however the open plan kitchen, dining and lounge allows for good wheel chair mobility.
The apartments are on level 3 and 4 with lift access from Reception and the Secure Car Park.

Are there laundry facilities in the apartment?
Each apartment features a washing machine/tumble dryer combination.
We supply washing powder in each apartment. We also offer same day Dry Cleaning and laundry service – a laundry bag and card is found in the wardrobe and if this is delivered to Reception prior to 9am Monday – Saturday we will place the cleaned items in your apartment by 6pm same day.

What are my transport options to the apartHOTEL from Edinburgh Airport?
Executive Transport
An executive transfer is available at preferential rates from our transfer provider www.blackfordexecutivecars.co.uk

Airport Bus
As you exit the Airport you will see the Airport Express bus which runs every 10 minutes into the Waverly Bridge in the city centre. From here we are less than a 10 minute walk with light luggage, or approximately £5.00 in a taxi – we recommend a taxi if you are not familiar with Edinburgh streets.
Taxi
A taxi from the Airport will cost approximately £20.00 - £24.00 and take around 30 minute’s dependant on the time of day you are travelling.

How do I get to the apartHOTEL from the Train Station?
We are located less than a 10 minute walk from Waverly Station (Edinburgh’s main central station). Please see our location page for directions and a map of Edinburgh city. If you are travelling with heavy bags a Taxi is highly recommended – expect to pay around £5.00.

Where can I pick up grocery supplies and beverages for my apartment?
The Canongate Store is located on the Royal Mile, about 150 metres from the apartHOTEL, stocks basic supplies is a News Agent and has a limited off licence, typical hours are 6am – 6pm daily.
The Royal Mile Store is located just below the St Marys Street/Royal Mile junction, easily identified by a big Coca-Cola sign and less than a 5 minute walk from the apartHOTEL.
Here you will find breakfast supplies, limited grocery supplies and off-licence. Normal trading hours are: 10am – 10pm daily The Scottish Grocer is a small, well stocked store on the corner of Jeffery’s St and the Royal Mile. Here you will find all that the above stores offer along with a reasonable selection of fruit and veg. You will walk past this store on your way to the apartHOTEL from Waverly Station. Typical opening hours are 7am – 6pm
M&S Simply Food is located within Waverly Station (less than a 10 minute walk) and provides a full selection of Grocery items – perfect for picking up supplies for a few days stay. Typical hours are 7am – 10pm, however Sundays and Public Holidays may be reduced to 8pm – 9pm.

Do you offer a Grocery shopping service?
We understand that when you are on holiday time is precious, so let us take care of the mundane chores whilst you enjoy yourself! We can do the food and beverage shopping on your behalf and stock the items into your apartment prior to your arrival. Please not we require your shopping list 48 hours prior to your arrival.
Please email your requirements to mail@holyroodaparthotel.com and also advise if we may substitute items for the nearest match, should they not be available.
There is a small fee of £15.00 for the first £80.00 worth of shopping with an extra £5.00 fee for each additional £50.00 worth of shopping. The grocery bill and shopping fee will be added to your final bill.

Do you have a bar or restaurant in the apartHOTEL?
We really are spoilt for choice when it comes to excellent Restaurants and Bars in the area (more than 12 within a 5 minute walk) At Holyrood apartHOTEL we focus on what we do best: providing stunning accommodation and superb service.

Do you allow pets?
Unfortunately we do not accept pets, however Registered Guide Dogs and Service Dogs are most welcome.

Do you have a minimum or maximum length of stay?
No, we are delighted to have our guests stay for 1 night or 100. On exceptionally busy days a minimum stay of 2 or more nights may be adopted.

How often are the apartments serviced?
Your apartment will be serviced on a daily basis, this includes bed making, disposal of refuse, bathrooms cleaned, vacuuming and dusting. Bed Linen is changed every 3rd day.

What are the advantages of an apartHOTEL as opposed to a traditional hotel?
When you check into your apartment you have space to ‘spread’ out and not be confined to a hotel room for recreation, eating and working. Ideal for the guest who is suffering from Hotel Fatigue. You can entertain in the Lounge and utilize the fully equipped kitchen to cook or else order in and dine at your own dinner table.
The apartment is also ideal for families, as you can put the children in bed and still utilize the comforts of the Lounge and perhaps enjoy a Bottle of Wine and a DVD.

Is it possible to have Breakfast ?
We can provide a continental Breakfast enabling you to enjoy Breakfast when it suits you. By booking direct on our website or with Holyrood apartHOTEL Reservations you will receive a complimentary Continental Breakfast hamper for the first night of your stay. You may then choose to purchase the hamper on a daily basis for a nominal charge.

Is there a single Female Traveller Policy?
We believe the security and safety of all our guests is of paramount importance, to this end we have CCTV cameras in the Car Park, Secure car park gates which can only be accessed by current guests.
All apartment doors have ‘peep holes’ into the main corridors.
Apartment numbers are not printed on Keys so that this information remains confidential.
Safes, hairdryers, iron, ironing boards are all in your apartment so there should never be any need to invade your privacy.
In addition there is member of staff on hand 24 hours a day to ensure the safety and well being of our guests.

Are there any additional costs you should be aware of?
No - all utility services including electricity, water, service charges and all taxes are included - however please note telephone and internet are charged for.
