About Us

Holyrood apartHOTEL became part of the Edinburgh Collection in late 2010 and is a modern building well suited to families and couples alike. Although we do not have the same level of history at this property, our Edinburgh hotel apartments are surrounded by many historical features. From the medieval Old Town to the stunning Georgian New Town, Edinburgh’s architecture tells its own tale of history and innovation, creating one of the most beautiful sky lines in the world.

The world famous Edinburgh Castle towers over the city centre, with a route sweeping down to the Palace of Holyrood.

For those with a limited amount of time staying at a hotel apartment in the Holyrood apartHOTEL, Edinburgh, then a Historical Bus Tour of Edinburgh is highly recommended. Buses depart from Waverley Bridge every 15 minutes, with tours lasting around two hours, taking in most of the city’s most thrilling and interesting sites. Travellers are free to leave the bus anytime, explore at will and then jump back on when the next bus comes along.

There are also some excellent walking history tours, with knowledgeable guides whose passion for Edinburgh is truly infectious!

For those who like to delve into the other worldly while staying at our Edinburgh apartments, there are even after dark ‘Ghost Walks’ in the Old Town. Sceptical? These tours are still a fun and exciting way to research some of Edinburgh’s most infamous landmarks and characters.

Sales And Marketing Executive Edinburgh

The Edinburgh Collection is recruiting the new position of Sales and Marketing Executive for our independent hotel group, based in central Edinburgh. The role requires a candidate of enthusiasm and experience who will ably support the Sales Manager in driving sales, who will pro-actively market the hotels using various traditional and online methods, and who will ensure all client databases are efficiently managed and updated.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following on a day-to-day basis:

 *   Researching and contracting new business across all four hotels in our group.

 *   Collating and maintaining client contact database

 *   Managing company Social Media activity such as Facebook, Twitter,

 *   Manage and maintain company e-marketing activity such as e-newsletters, email blasts and via Social Media

 *   Manage Guest feedback via online channels

 *   Designing Advertisements and Promotions

 *   Updating websites

 *   Writing editorial features

 *   Managing relationships with direct corporate and leisure bookers.

 *   Analysing statistics and generating reports.

 *   Working closely with existing and potential clients to secure all available business opportunities and secure strong working relationships

 *   Proactively identify target accounts using market data and industry intelligence, and creating and making appointments

 *   Assist the Sales Manager in account development of corporate clients for each property

 *   Assist hotels in responding to conference, event and wedding enquiries in a timely manner, manage and liaise with hotel operational team to ensure all details are communicated accurately.

 *   Provide timely and accurate feedback to senior management regarding performance on a weekly basis.

 *   To assist and help co-ordinate corporate sales events within the hotels

The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, able to work unsupervised to reach set targets, have solid organisation skills to prioritise workload and excellent communication skills through email, telephone and in person. Experience within the hospitality sector advantageous but not essential. Experience with Social Media management and database management is essential, as is experience with aspects of online marketing and design. Key IT Skills required include Microsoft Word and Excel, Powerpoint and Mailchimp or equivalent.

This position is full time, five days out of seven, 40+ hours per week, may involve weekends and evenings. Salary dependent on experience.

Palm Holdings

Palm Holdings is a marketing umbrella for a number of family owned businesses including The Edinburgh Collection. The membership brings together a group of family owned businesses within hospitality, commercial offices and hotel services. Collectively we have been working together and have experience within the group of over 3 generations in hotel development, management, commercial property and hotel reservation services across the United Kingdom, Canada, and now in India.

The legal entities of each of the businesses may have different ownership structures and have different boards not least because of Joint Venture agreements and funding arrangements but one or more of the Executives are normally involved in each separate legal entity whether through direct/indirect share ownership and/or board representation. The different legal entities are not in partnership with one another nor held out as such and do not have any liability (save under specific contractual arrangements) for one another’s liabilities. None of these legal entities have any power, authority, or capacity to bind any other legal entity listed.

Disabled Access

We have 2 Edinburgh holiday apartments that have been adapted for accessibility. They feature 2 bedrooms, 1 with a standard en-suite shower room and 1 accessible bathroom with grab rails, shower seat or wheel in shower. The kitchen has not been adapted, however the open plan kitchen, dining and lounge allows for good wheel chair mobility.

The serviced Edinburgh apartments are on level 3 and 4 with lift access from reception and the secure car park.

Each of our 46 contemporary Edinburgh apartments are beautifully appointed and finished to the highest standard.
